What is a PESEL number with UKR status?

PESEL UKR status was introduced to provide protection to Ukrainian citizens who came to Poland in connection with the war.

People who have a PESEL number with UKR status may legally stay in Poland and — after meeting the required conditions — take up employment in accordance with applicable regulations.

If you are a Ukrainian citizen and have UKR status, our recruiters will help verify your situation and check whether you are eligible to work.

If you have a PESEL number with UKR status, during the recruitment process we may ask you to prepare:

  • an identity document (passport or other travel document),
  • documents confirming legal residence,
  • your PESEL number,
  • documents required for employment in the selected position.

The scope of required documents may vary depending on your individual situation and current regulations.

Working in Poland with UKR status

Having PESEL UKR status allows you to take up legal employment in Poland; however, the employer is required to complete certain formalities resulting from applicable regulations.
