Mobile operator in Poland: Play, Orange, T-Mobile or Plus — what to choose and how much it costs in 2026

A Polish phone number is one of the first things many newcomers need: employers, banks, delivery services and public institutions frequently use it for contact and verification. Poland’s four main mobile operators are Play, Orange, T-Mobile and Plus. All offer 5G, eSIM, prepaid plans and contracts, but pricing, promotions and real-world signal quality vary by location.

The comparison below reflects offers checked on 29 July 2026. Promotions change frequently, so always confirm the current conditions on the operator’s official website.

Quick prepaid comparison

PlusULTRA PLN 50/30 days; first 2 months PLN 25 eachUnlimited data for 6 months, then up to 1,500 GB every 30 days for another 6 monthsVery high data consumption

Play: a data-heavy offer for active users

Play’s main 2026 promotion is linked to the XXL 5G package. The standard price is PLN 50 per 30 days. New customers pay PLN 50 for the first month and PLN 0 for the second, bringing the average to PLN 25 per month for the first two months.

After activation, users receive unlimited data for six months. For the following six months, Play provides 600 GB every 30 days. Domestic calls, SMS and MMS are unlimited.

Play is a strong option for frequent video streaming, video calls and hotspot use. Check coverage at both your home and workplace before deciding.

Orange: a good balance of price and data

Orange offers a prepaid package for PLN 35 per 30 days with unlimited domestic calls, SMS and MMS. Under the 9,900 GB starter promotion, the first month may cost PLN 0, followed by renewals at PLN 35.

Each successful renewal brings a total of 825 GB: 25 GB in the base service plus an 800 GB promotional bonus. The promotion is advertised until 31 August 2026.

Orange can be a practical all-round choice for city use, work and travel, particularly for people who want a lower ongoing monthly fee.

T-Mobile: a straightforward basic plan and a larger option

T-Mobile’s basic prepaid package renews at PLN 35 every 30 days and includes 50 GB plus unlimited domestic calls, SMS and MMS.

Customers needing much more data can choose GO! XL for PLN 50. Its starter promotion includes the first month free and up to 9,999 GB distributed across 12 packages over a year.

T-Mobile is worth considering for users who prefer predictable monthly allowances and a clear choice between a basic and high-data plan.

Plus: very large allowances for intensive use

Plus highlights its GIGApakiet ULTRA. The regular price is PLN 50 per 30 days, while new customers pay PLN 25 for each of the first two months.

After activation, unlimited data is available for six months. During the next six months, users receive up to 1,500 GB every 30 days; unused data may roll over under the offer’s terms.

Plus may suit remote workers, users relying on mobile data at home and people who regularly download large files.

Which operator has the best coverage?

There is no single winner across all of Poland. Signal quality depends on the nearest base station, terrain, building materials, floor level and phone model. Operators’ coverage maps are only indicative.

  • check all four operators’ coverage maps for your home and workplace;
  • ask neighbours or colleagues which network works well locally;
  • start with prepaid and test the connection before signing a long contract;
  • make sure your phone supports Polish LTE and 5G bands.

Prepaid or contract?

Prepaid is usually the easiest option for a newcomer: you pay in advance, avoid a long commitment and can switch networks easily. A passport is normally enough to register the SIM; a PESEL number or Polish bank account is not generally required for prepaid.

A contract may be better for a long stay, buying a handset in instalments or adding family lines. Check the contract period, the price after promotions end and early termination conditions.

How to buy and register a Polish SIM

1. Buy a starter SIM from an operator shop, supermarket, kiosk or online. Some operators also offer eSIM.

2. Prepare a passport or another accepted identity document. Registration of prepaid SIM cards is compulsory in Poland.

3. Register the number in a shop, authorised outlet, operator app or online, depending on the network.

4. Top up the account and activate the selected package separately. A top-up alone may not trigger the promotion.

5. Enable automatic renewal only when you want the package to continue and keep enough credit on the account.

What to check before choosing

  • Promotional pricing often lasts only one or two months.
  • Figures such as 9,900 or 9,999 GB usually represent the total annual bonus, not one immediate allowance.
  • Unlimited data may be temporary or subject to fair-use speed restrictions.
  • Domestic data and the EU roaming allowance are different.
  • Calls from Poland to Ukraine are international and may not be included.
  • Some bonuses require marketing consent or activation through the operator’s app.

Practical recommendation

  • For maximum data, compare Play XXL and Plus ULTRA.
  • For a large allowance at a moderate monthly price, look at Orange for PLN 35.
  • For a straightforward basic plan, check T-Mobile for PLN 35.
  • For rural locations, choose according to the actual local signal rather than advertising.
